Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom truly is a magical place especially for children or the young at heart. With 7 different themed lands, surrounding the enchanting Cinderella's Castle, there is an amazing variety of attractions and rides to keep the whole family amused throughout the day.
Our favourite things to do here include Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Mickey's Philarmagic and The Haunted Mansion.
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Formerly known as MGM Studios this theme park is based around TV and the movies. Themes range from Indiana Jones to the Muppets and Star Wars to the Little Mermaid, so there is plenty to entertain the whole family for a full day. Don't miss the spectacular Fantasmic show in the evening that will end your day with a bang!
Some of our favourite attractions include the Tower of Terror (pictured right), Rock n Roller Coaster, Lights Motors Action and the Indiana Jones Stunt Show.
Epcot
Epcot, or the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, features two themed areas, Future World and World Showcase.
Future World attractions focus on space, imagination and energy, whereas World Showcase is a fascinating glimpse into eleven different cultures.
Our favourites include Test Track, Mission Space, Soarin' and the many differently themed restaurants of the world in World Showcase.
Animal Kingdom
The newest of Disney's four theme parks is a fabulous combination of rides, attractions and safari park. Animal Kingdom's 500 acres are home to over 1700 animals representing over 250 different species. A ride on the brilliant Kilimanjaro Safari will allow you to see many.
The whole park is built around the Tree of Life, a giant artificial tree with hundreds of animals carved into it's trunk.
Our must do's include Expedition Everest (pictured right), Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safari, Dinosaur and It's Tough to be a Bug.
Universal Studios
Universal Studios opened in 1990 and is, like MGM, based around the Movies. The park is split into 6 lands, New York, Hollywood, San Francisco, World Expo, Production Central and Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone.
The park is made up of a mixture of rides, simulators and shows. From the weird and wonderful to the showy and spectacular, there's something for everyone at Universal Studios.
The attractions we recommend include Men in Black, Jaws, Revenge of the Mummy, Shrek 4D, Terminator 2 3D and Twister.
Islands of Adventure
Orlando's newest and most technically advanced theme park is a personal favourite of mine. There are some seriously scary rides here to keep even the bravest of thrillseekers amused.
Split into 5 separate lands, which include Seuss Landing and Toon Lagoon for the younger ones, and the Lost Continent, Jurassic Park and Marvel Super-Hero Island for the older kids and adults.
My favourite ride is The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man which is simply fantastic but other unmissable thrills include Dueling Dragons, Incredible Hulk Coaster (pictured right), Jurassic Park River Adventure and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls.
SeaWorld and Discovery Cove
SeaWorld, featuring the legendary Shamu (pictured left), is one of the most popular parks with British visitors because of its more naturalistic and laid back demeanour. Mixing shows and exhibits with rides makes for a varied experience.
The top attractions include the Shamu Show, Shark Encounter, Journey to Atlantis, Kraken and Wild Arctic.
Also not to be missed is SeaWorld's sister park Discovery Cove, where the highlight of the day is the Dolphin Swim. You get to stroke, feed and even kiss the dolphins before actually swimming with one of these wonderful creatures. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
Busch Gardens
Situated approximately an hour from the condo is the fabulous theme park, Busch Gardens. With more than 2700 animals representing 320 species of mammals, reptiles and birds this is a fabulous zoo. But it is so much more than that, the animals are just the start.
Split into several different areas, named after parts of Africa, this is the theme park with the most white knuckle rides of any park around Orlando. Particularly frightening is SheiKra, a vertical coaster, that you have to see to believe.
The rides to be recommended are Gwazi, Rhino Rally, Kumba, Montu, Tanganyika Tidal Wave and of course SheiKra.
Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach
Disney's water parks are a great alternative to the theme parks for a more leisurely, laid-back day. Of course you can also choose to spend your time in a more energetic fashion by riding the many, some very scary, water-slides.
However you choose to spend your day you'll love the gorgeous setting of both parks. Typhoon Lagoon is themed as a tropical paradise with white-sand beaches, rope bridges and tropical flowers all surrounding a lagoon fringed with palm trees. Blizzard beach is arranged to look as if it were high in the Rocky Mountains, with water slides disguised as ski slopes and lots of snow-effect scenery.
